The President of the Anglo Arab Organisation, Mr. Nadhmi Auchi, expressed his delight at the release of the two journalists which took place yesterday in Baghdad .

The release comes at the start of the universal season of good will and adds to the joy of their families and friends.

Mr. Auchi and the AAO led and sponsored high level delegations made up of Arab, British and French dignitaries, including Mr. Mohammed Beshari, President of the Federation of French Muslims and Mrs Khadidja Abdul Khali, President of the Union of Muslim Women of France, to the region, meeting with H E President Lahoud of Lebanon, the Mufti of Lebanon and with other religious and political figures asking and encouraging them to use their good offices for securing the release of the two journalists and their Syrian driver.

Mr. Auchi is stated as saying “The release must be understood in the context of the moral stance that has always taken vis à vis Arab issues”. He expressed his sincere wishes that the suffering of the people of should come to an end soon so that all may live in peace and prosperity as they truly deserve and is their god-given and inalienable right.
